Youth

Welcome to our web-page!!

Whether you accidentally stumbled upon our page, or were purposely seeking it out, we believe that it has plenty of things to offer you, and we’re glad you’re visiting!

First CRC employs Anita Plat-Kuiken as our part-time Director of Youth Ministries.

First CRC has to offer the following programs for youth::

GEMS: Grades 2 and up

CD's:  Grades 7 + 8

Youth Group: Grades 9 - 12

Catechism Classes: Grades 7 - 12

C.D.’s:

What’s a CD?

Yes, it’s a Compact Disc. But we have added to the Disc part and made it Disc iple. So a CD = Compact Disciple: Clever eh?

In CD’s we want to create a strong community of disciples of God. We want to become someone who lives their life for God and do that with our friends.

What do we do?

Typically we meet bi-weekly and alternate between regular meetings and fun outings.

In our regular meetings, we meet at the Youth Center and do games and some sort of talk relating to a Christian teen’s issues.

During fun outings our focus’ is just that – fun – and a chance to become better known with like minded people at your church. In the past we have gone bowling, played gym games, and our best event is the 24 Hour Famine weekend where we only eat popsicles, play games and sleep over in the church to raise money for CRWRC.

Who are the leaders?

Your leaders are Neil and Amber VanAndel, Christine Boer, Nik Maloney, and Anita Plat-Kuiken.

HEY! Do you love music?
Do you play an instrument, love to sing, or know how to operate the sound system? Come and join the youth band! We meet every week starting in December, and are very excited about doing our youth service in February!

HEY! Need a pick-me-up? Check out these verses!

“ I can do all things through him who gives me strength!” Philippians 4:13

“ Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name, and you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1b

“ Forget the former things; do NOT dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43: 18, 19.

“ For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 29:11

“ Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6: 34

“ I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead I have called you friends, for everything that I have learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit; fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask for in my name.” John 15:15-16
