Reaching Out through Missionaries

In the spirit of our vision "Discover Christ and Grow in Him", we not only consider our own growth, but also the spiritual discovery and growth of those outside of our church, city and sometimes even our country. God has blessed us with people who are working towards this on our behalf. We'd like to introduce you to a few of them:

Ray & Ann Kapteyn, Wycliffe Pilot & Translator (Cameroon)

Ray and Ann Kapteyn served as missionaries in Brazil for six years.  In the fall of 2006 they moved with their three children to Cameroon, West Africa where they are continuing their work with Wycliffe Bible Translators.  Ray serves as a pilot-mechanic, flying missionaries to remote locations in Cameroon and surrounding countries.  Ann is planning to work as an exegetical consultant, which means she’ll work with Cameroonian Bible translators, helping them to thoroughly understand Scripture passages before they translate them.

Ed & Linda Speyers, Wycliffe Recruiters (Michigan)

For twenty years, Ed and Linda Speyers worked as Wycliffe Bible translators in Suriname.  After the translation was completed they returned to Michigan where they have continued to serve with Wycliffe as recruiters.  They make contacts with many students, do a lot of follow up and mentoring, and also take groups of students to observe and experience translation in foreign countries.
